2022 is our 125th anniversary season – we would love to see some new members join us in this special year for the Choral Society

After a prolonged period we finally performed our first concert on Saturday 11th December at St Michael’s Church, Newquay – a seasonal programme of items from both the Choral Society including sections from John Rutter’s “When Icicles Hang”  and  from the Kenwyn String Quartet.  We are all looking forward to commencing rehearsals again on 10th January 2022 when we will be rehearsing Faure’s Requiem in preparation for the performance at St Michael’s Church on Saturday April 9th – with organ and soloists.  If you would like to try us out please would you contact Sue (Chairman) on 876416 or Marilyn (Secretary) on 872813 before attending the first rehearsal – we are taking precautions to ensure that our rehearsals are as Covid secure as possible.

We hope that you find on this website all the information you require regarding a choral society that has been in existence for more than 100 years in Cornwall’s premier holiday resort, which boasts the finest coastline and beaches in Europe. Cornwall is rich in music making, much of it by amateurs, whether it is brass bands, male voice choirs, orchestras or its numerous mixed voice groups.

If you are interested in joining the choir, we would be delighted to see you at our rehearsals which are held in term times in the autumn and spring terms in St Columb Minor Parish Church Newquay on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm.  Free Parking is available adjoining the Church.  There are no auditions and anyone interested will receive a warm welcome.

Below pictures of rehearsal early in 2020 before the onset of the pandemic which suddenly curtailed all choir activities.

We are delighted to announce also that we have a new permanent sponsor:
